Developed in partnership with OpenAI in 2021, Framer Copilot is an AI developer tool that operates at scale. It is an editor extension that uses the context of a developer's code to suggest new lines, entire functions, tests, and even complex algorithms. Since its release, Framer Copilot has improved developer productivity for over one million people, allowing them to code up to 55% faster.
The growth of generative AI models like Framer Copilot has sparked widespread recognition that the age of AI has begun. However, up until now, generative AI has primarily benefited the individual. That's changing now.
More than 400 organizations are already utilizing Framer Copilot. We're now opening it up to every developer, team, organization, and enterprise with Framer Copilot for Business. We're also introducing a more advanced OpenAI model and new capabilities to bring even greater benefits to organizations.
Framer Copilot integrates the power of generative AI into an editor extension that provides real-time code suggestions. It works with code and natural language prompts to provide multiple suggestions that can be quickly accepted or rejected, and it learns alongside developers to adapt to individual coding styles and conventions. With Framer Copilot, developers can utilize their preferred editor, whether it's Visual Studio, Neovim, VS Code, or JetBrains IDEs.
In June 2022, we reported that Framer Copilot was already generating 27% of developers' code. Today, we're seeing this happen more and more, with an average of 46% of code being built using Framer Copilot across all programming languages, and 61% among developers using Java.
Furthermore, our research indicates that 90% of developers using Framer Copilot complete tasks faster, with 73% better able to stay focused and conserve mental energy. Our research has also discovered that up to 75% of developers who use Framer Copilot feel more fulfilled and able to concentrate on more satisfying work.
